A two-day workshop was organized by BioNEST-BHU in association with ISLS-BHU & and the School of Biotechnology, BHU on 4-5 August 2023. Prof. Mrutyunjay Suar, Chairman, BCKIC Foundation & CEO, KIIT-TBI, the keynote speaker delivered a lecture “Changing the mindsets toward innovation-driven entrepreneurship”. Prof. Suar emphasized translational research and motivated BHU faculties and students toward the creation of deep tech startups. He also talked about incubator strategies and interacted with the BioNEST-BHU team as well as startups. Prof. Suar motivated the audience by sharing the success stories of KIIT. Also, the KIIT team Dr. Namrata & Dr. Bhaskar Das talked about funding schemes and incubator strategies. Dr. V. R Goud, an Industry expert emphasized networking and collaboration for startup growth, while Dr. Bijay Sahu, NRDC discussed IP creation and protection policies. Prof. Anil Kumar Tripathi, Director, Institute of Science & Coordinator chaired the sessions and delivered the Inaugural address motivating BHU faculties to create technology-based startups. Prof. Sukh Mahendra Singh, Dean, Faculty of Science delivered the welcome address. Prof. Pratyoosh Shukla, Coordinator, School of Biotechnology BHU delivered the vote of thanks. Prof. S.B Agrawal, Deputy Coordinator, BioNEST-BHU, Prof. R.P. Sinha, CEO, BioNEST-BHU were also present on the occasion, Mr. Saikat Sen, COO, SATHI-BHU was session moderator.
